Curriculum
Pearls of Wisdom Academy uses Charlotte Mason style curriculum such as Apologia, Masterbooks, and classic literature and book study guides. Thursdays is a full curriculum program with homework that goes home for the week. We use methods like dialectic discussions, public speaking presentations, hands-on experiments, and more to help students connect to the learning. We use a curriculum that can be tailored to your student to allow them to do a lighter load or to have work that can be added on for a more rigorous schedule. It is all about meeting your students' individual educational needs. Our curriculum is designed to bring wonder to your students' learning time!
Our curriculum handles certain subjects in 4-year cycles instead of by grade level as in other schools. For example, geology is taught every four years, and all ages learn the same subject appropriate to their age. In this way, all students in the same family share a common learning experience. Topics in these cycles are:
Cycle 1: Ancient History, Astronomy, Geology
Cycle 2: Medieval History, Biology
Cycle 3: Renaissance History, Chemistry, Physics
Cycle 4: Modern History, Botany, Forensic Science
